‘1923’ Releases a Shocking New Close-Look Trailer for Season 2
The Taylor Sheridan-created series promises more Dutton drama!
The Yellowstone universe isn’t coming to an end anytime soon, even with the recent finale of Yellowstone Season 5, part 2. And now, there’s even more news coming our way in the form of 1923 season 2.
The second season of the Yellowstone prequel series was given the green light a while back, and since then, updates on the show have been rolling in sporadically—and anyone who watched season 1 will want to know all they can about its continuation.
1923, created by Taylor Sheridan, blew fans away with its riveting plot and cliffhanger of a finale in the first season. It told the story of a different generation in the Dutton family and showed how everything came to be. If you need a refresher: The early leaders of the Dutton ranch—Jacob and Cara Dutton—were last seen leaving court with a hard loss. Alex and Spencer were headed to Montana to help the family, but even after hopping onto their third boat—they still couldn’t manage to find their way there.
A lot of questions remain unanswered, but it’s clear everyone is ready for one thing: new episodes! Thankfully, those are coming soon. Paramount+ previously informed fans of a 2025 premiere date for 1923 season 2. And finally, there’s a new trailer to accompany the announcement. Just scroll down to get a first look at all the action. But prepare yourself, because it’s shocking! You can also read on to get even more information on 1923 season 2, including the release date, details on what it will be about, cast news, and more.
When Will 1923 Season 2 Premiere?

Fans can also stream season 1 in full on Paramount+.
Who Will Star in the Cast of 1923?

Jennifer Carpenter will be jumping onboard the Western series. If you recognize her name, then you’ve likely seen Carpenter in shows like Dexter and Limitless. She will be portraying Mamie Fossett, a character described to be a U.S. Deputy Marshall known for making the arrests in her town. Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Roché, and Timothy Dalton will also star in the second season.
What Will 1923 Season 2 Be About?
Along with a set date for the series’ return, Paramount+ also surprised fans with a closer look at season 2 ahead of the premiere. See below for the official trailer that promises a lot more Dutton drama in our futures.
Given the major cliffhangers we were left with in season 1, we can expect 1923 season 2 to hopefully answer some of those questions. Will Alex be reunited with Spencer? And how will Jacob and Cara manage to save their family’s land? Only time will tell!
But here’s what we do know based on the teasers and new trailer: In Season 2, a cruel winter brings plenty of new challenges to Jacob and Cara back at Dutton ranch. As they deal with adversaries threatening to end their legacy, Spencer (Sklenar) urgently sets out on a grueling journey home to Montana in an effort to save his family. As attacks on the Duttons grow, Alexandra (Schlaepfer) begins her own treacherous trans-Atlantic journey to reunite with Spencer and reclaim their love.
The official trailer features the cast of 1923, as they give a closer look at the thrilling season ahead while divulging a few exciting behind-the-scenes details as well. It starts out with the ominous warning: “This ranch is under attack. Our way of life is under attack.” Not only that, but Sebastian Roché (Father Renaud) teases that fans are, “In for multiple shocks this season.” He continues with, “It’s very romantic, adventurous, exciting. There’s a real journey–for all the characters. It’s about the physical journey, but also the emotional, psychological journey. The fans will go berserk for it.”
Michelle Randolph (Margaret Dutton) echoes everyone’s thoughts by adding, “I know how torturous it was to not be able to know what happened for so long… But it’s worth the wait.” Wow! Who else is already on the edge of their seat?
