Matt proudly showed off his new home on Instagram on Tuesday.
In the post, Matt, 62, filmed the huge living and dining area of the Oregon house, which he moved into in December after getting ahead of his construction schedule.
“We are super happy about the way things are coming out here in the house. See that… looking out at the back, a veranda, very big looking out at the farm,” the TLC star said as he panned around the open-plan room.
The video showed a dining area on the right, with couches and a coffee table set up in front of a television and electric fireplace on the left of the room.
The area had very high ceilings, with huge windows letting in natural light, offering a stunning view of nature outside.
Behind the living area was a direct view of the front door through a wide corridor, with more windows looking out to the other side of the house.
“Did you catch that?” Matt captioned the teasing clip, referring to the TV playing an episode of his show.
COMFY COZY The home’s living room features brown leather couches facing a mounted television, with a glass door leading outside in the background. Despite the homey vibes, Matt and Caryn admittedly had several disagreements when it came to designing the house. “It’s still always going to be your house that we’re gonna share,” Caryn argued on the February 27, 2024, episode of Little People, Big World. “I do look at it that way. We’re not married. This is Matt’s house that I happen to cohabitate in.”
GORGEOUS VIEWS The couple’s house overlooks the farm, allowing for the most amazing sunset views. A covered outdoor area is complete with furniture so time can be spent outside in the warmer weather. Amid Matt and Caryn’s home build, the TLC star shocked LPBW viewers when he revealed that he would be leaving his ex-wife, Amy Roloff, who shares four adult children with Matt, the family farm in the event of his death. Amy was equally as stunned when her ex shared the news with her during the season 25 premiere.
THE LIVING ROOM Another view of the living room reveals the television and console. The room is decorated with candles, a vase, plants and more. “This is the way we’re gonna do it from now on. [I] find a product that [I] like, you tell me where you don’t want it, and whatever’s left is where I’ll put it,” Matt compromised with Caryn on LPBW.
ROOM TO SIT Behind the living room, a table allows for more space to sit down. The open concept of the home gives it an airy vibe, with glass windows and doors bringing in plenty of natural light from outside.
ENTRYWAY VIBES A chandelier hangs in the entryway and a glass door with black trim welcomes guests into the home. The couple put a mirror near the entrance and a decorative couch along one wall.
THE EXTERIOR Before the house was fully finished, Matt gave a glimpse at the exterior in a January 2024 Instagram post. The brown home is decorated with brick detailing and lots of windows. Matt once referred to the Oregon house as his “dream home” and said that he struggled to implement his “craziest” design ideas in the past. That all changed when “Caryn found a builder and there’s a floor plan that works for us mostly,” he revealed in 2023. “Just a few little tweaks.”
In the comment section, the star’s social media followers gushed over the modern home.
“Oh it’s beautiful!!! Love it!!!” said one.
“Beautiful… cheers to many new and happy memories,” wrote a second.
“The house turned out gorgeous!! Absolutely stunning,” a third follower added.
“Awesome job Matt. Your home looks fabulous,” another commenter praised.
