We’re just days away from the return of 1923, and Season 2 is about to bring an end to this era of Yellowstone, so make sure you keep on top of the release schedule.
Last time we saw the ’20s Duttons, they were at a crossroads. The ranch’s taxes had been paid by Donald Whitfield, meaning they needed to buy him out in order to keep the land.
What’s more, Spencer and Alex had been separated by Spencer’s arrest, meaning they would have to travel across the world to meet each other in Montana again.
That’s a lot to cover in the second half of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel series, so let’s break down when the new episodes drop.
1923 Season 2 Episode 1 release date and time
1923 Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, February 23 at at 12am ET/ 9pm PT on Paramount+.
New episodes will arrive every Sunday until the finale on April 13.

How many episodes are there?
1923 Season 2 will have eight episodes, same as the first season.
Originally, there was only supposed to be one season. But when Taylor Sheridan discovered he needed more time to tell this part of the Dutton family’s story, Paramount allowed him to split the show into two.
“Well, it’s really the second half of the season. This one is different than 1883 where I had the whole thing blocked out in my head,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Paramount“This one, I had no idea what I was going to do. I just went on a journey myself and I’m the one that made the call to the network, which is probably the greatest call they ever got. ‘Hey, I need to make more episodes to finish this story. I need to do this in two blocks.’
“An eight episode block and a second eight episode block to wrap this up. I can’t wrap it up in two episodes and do the story justice. For them, it is great because they get more content. For me, I get more runway.”

What is Season 2 about?
Season 2 will follow Jacob and Cara Dutton as they attempt to pay back Donald Whitfield’s taxes on the ranch, as well as Spencer and Alexandra as they journey separately towards Montana.
The official synopsis is as follows: “With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.”
