EastEnders wedding ends in tears as pictures ‘confirm’ tragic outcome of major couple’s big day
EastEnders filming pictures confirm emotional and intense scenes as disaster unfolds at Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) wedding.
The Queen Vic couple have been engaged for a little while but due to classic Walford drama (hi Cindy), they’re yet to actually get round to tying the knot.
Fortunately, celebrations are finally underway as these images show virtually the entire cast gathering at a church to take part in George and Elaine’s big day.
However.
One person far from impressed to see George and Elaine committing to spend the rest of their lives with each other is Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), George’s ex.
In recent months she’s attempted to get back with George time and time again, but he’s consistently reminded Cindy that he wants to be with Elaine.
This led Cindy to starting an affair with George’s son Junior (Micah Balfour), which has been going on for months now.
But given the devastation on her face in these shots, has she been left all alone?
Or is she simply trying to win back so-called love of her life George, making one final play for his affection as he prepares to marry Elaine?
If so, just what will Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) make of it all? Co-star Adam was in attendance at the shoot so no doubt fireworks will ensue if Ian gets wind of Cindy’s intentions?
Could Cindy and Junior’s affair be revealed on the big day? The jury is still out, we’re afraid.
The biggest question of all is, of course, will George and Elaine actually make it down the aisle and tie the knot? Or will Cindy’s presence ultimately blow the entire wedding?
As we enter the final few months of 2024, EastEnders will continue to build up to their 40th anniversary in February, which will feature a live episode.
In a soap first, the power of deciding the outcome of one storyline will be bestowed onto the audience.
Whilst details are fairly scarce at the moment, we do know that the interactive element will involve your opinion on the desired outcome of a love story – but who?
Referencing the recent spate of huge returns, including Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) and David Wicks (Michael French), he continued: ‘We have many more nods to our history to come which will all build up to our momentous anniversary week.’
‘This time, as well as going live, we are adding an extra twist and for the very first time in the history of the show and as a gift to the viewers, we are giving the audience the power to have their say in choosing the outcome of one of our storylines.
‘Whilst we’re still keeping the finite details of the 40th close to our chest, I can promise that it will be an unmissable week full of shocking twists that will change Albert Square, and the lives of those who live in it, forever.’
