Yellowstone isn’t over just yet.
The main storyline that has engrossed fans for years has officially come to a close, but characters from the flagship series aren’t calling it quits… at least that’s how it appears. Taylor Sheridan’s hit show finally concluded with a violent, thudding bang earlier this month, and ever since the finale aired, fans have been clamoring over a rumor that’s about as close to confirmed as it can get.
Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler starring in their own Yellowstone spinoff.
In an emotional Instagram post ahead of the season finale, Reilly voiced her appreciation for the role and everything that it has given her. However, she never said goodbye to Beth, which left many thinking it was a great sign that the rumor of a spinoff could be true:
“Words cannot convey how I feel about the people I got to work and create with. The support from the crew and the trust and dedication of the cast. The words I got to say and the woman I got to inhabit the past 7 years. It changed me. It lit me up.
It challenged me in every way possible and I will forever be grateful for it. For Taylor Sheridan, who took a chance on me and continued to write her in ways I got to feel on fire as an actor. Thank you the audience we made it for, for being on this journey with us.”
And the week before the finale episode aired, Deadline reported that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser would be reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler in a modern day spinoff series that would also see some of the Yellowstone cast dropping in from time to time. That has seemed like a valid source, but the confirmation fans were looking for actually came in the form of an Instagram comment.
A fan of the show (from the United Kingdom) left a message for Kelly Reilly underneath her social media post, asking if the rumors that a spinoff that would keep Beth and Rip’s story going are true:
“So is the rumor in the UK that you and Rip are making a spin off season not true? Whatever happens, I’ve loved every second of every episode in every season. You guys are all amazing.”
Reilly must have seen that message and decided that she would put that viewer at ease. With one word, and one emoji, the actress behind Beth Dutton made it clear that there are still more stories from the book of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler to tell.
Kelly responded with:
“True.”

Elsewhere in the comments, a fan voiced their concern with the show ending, and Reilly once again provided some comfort by saying she wasn’t ready to let go of Yellowstone either:
“Thank you for sharing this. You don’t have to be finished… a new chapter is happening. I wasn’t ready to let her go either… thank you.”
All in all, it looks like the next big Yellowstone spinoff will happen… we just don’t know when. We might all just have to wait for Kelly Reilly to post again on Instagram and flood her comments section once more with more detailed, precise questions about the Beth and Rip spinoff.
