Kevin Costner Reveals Why He Forbids His Children from Watching ‘Yellowstone’
Yellowstone is a widely acclaimed television series with a dedicated fan base around the world. Veteran actor Kevin Costner portrays, or rather portrayed patriarch John Dutton in the show. Costner left the show due to reported creative disagreements with Taylor Sheridan and scheduling issues, and hence, did not appear in the recently concluded Season 5B. In a recent interaction with Extra, Kevin shared the reason for the same, saying, “It’s too naughty for them to see, and they probably do figure out how to see it. But it’s got some nasty little bits that are good fun for everybody else.”
“Listen, a lot of my movies have some of those themes, so they are going to find them in the course of their life. They’re going to find it eventually. I hope they find Fandango. I hope they figure out what I’ve been doing with my life,” he added.
In an earlier interview with Entertainment Tonight (ET), he remarked, “It’s pretty racy. I’ve got to watch it and make sure what got left in and what got cut out before they see it.”

“I’m not even thinking about that. I don’t think I’ve given it any thought. So, we’ll just let it go,” he said while talking about the season finale in a video obtained by The Daily Mail. Costner also spoke about his relationship with Yellowstone co-star Luke Grimes, who played his son, Kayce Dutton, in the show amidst reports of a real-life conflict between them. He noted, “We’re done talking.”
Further, he added, “It’s not a case of any hard feelings or anything. It’s just, he’s Kevin Costner.” “I do have his phone number — I just don’t feel like it’s my place to reach out. He can reach out to me if he wants to.”
