Kevin Costner’s Friends ‘Worried’ for Actor’s Health as Stress ‘Could Wreak Havoc on Him’

Kevin Costner appears to be under a lot of stress after his passion film project, Horizon: An American Saga, opened to dismal reviews, and sources exclusively tell Life & Style that the actor’s friends fear he’ll face a resurgence of kidney stones due to the mounting pressure.

In an interview with People published last month, the 69-year-old A-lister revealed that he developed kidney stones while working on 2016’s Hidden Figures and had to finish out the last few weeks on set using morphine.

The health issue can be caused by chronic stress, and Closer‘s source reveals that Kevin is currently “under extreme pressure.”

According to the insider, “It’s no coincidence he’s talking about his kidney stones hell from a few years ago. Aside from that, he was a generally healthy guy, but he’s not young anymore.”

The first in the series of films, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, was released in theaters on June 28. It earned $11 million on its opening weekend. With $32.7 million earned at the global box office, the film failed to make enough to cover its $50 million budget. Horizon 2 had a budget of about $100 million.

The first film came with some negative critical reviews, of which Costner seemed unbothered. Horizon has a 48% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The director said he was “proud” of Chapter 1 and thinks people will watch the Horizon saga for generations. “I’ve faced life with people being dismissive of me,” he said.
